On-GUARD for Schools

On-GUARD (the Ontario Gateway for a Unified Approach to Rapid Deployment) is an information management framework developed for use by school administrative personnel and for first responders dispatched to any emergencies at our schools. On-GUARD aggregates and leverages existing school and municipal emergency planning.

This application has been developed by the Essex County OPP Strategic Planning office and with the cooperation of the municipalities & emergency services of Essex, Kingsville, Lakeshore, Leamington and Tecumseh.

Special thanks are due for the assistance of the participating school boards represented within Essex County; namely:

• the Conseil scolaire de district des écoles catholiques du Sud-Ouest,
• the Greater Essex County District School Board; and
• the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board.
